Big Shot Banner

Wow, I can't believe I haven't posted since Tuesday! I was so busy getting ready for the Scrapbook Crop, I lost track of other things. It doesn't help that the two youngest boys have baseball practice 4 to 5 nights a week.

Have I mentioned that the Big Shot Die Cut machine is my favorite Stampin' Up! tool? I have so much fun creating with the different dies. The Big Shot is a wonderfully versatile die cut machine. It makes both big and small diecuts that can be used in numerous ways. This banner was created using the Bigz XL Pennant Die. One die cuts both a large and small pennant and the scallop circles and is exclusive to Stampin' Up! This banner is made using Pacific Point and Tempting Turquoise Card stock for the pennants and scallop circles. The letters are cut with Serif Essentials Alphabet Die and the Rainbow Sherbet DSP. The pennants are connected using a gold brad in the center of each scallop circle. I eventually added Tempting Turquoise ribbon across the top, though it isn't shown here. Thanks, Georgia, for trading me a piece of cardstock so I could finish my banner. I didn't have quite enough Pacific Point cardstock on hand. You can be sure I will try to not let that happen again.

This die will be getting a lot of use in the next month. My daughter and her two best friends will be graduating from high school next month. I plan on enlisting their help in making banners for their graduation parties.

Relay for Life Scrapbooking Crop Last Chance

Tomorrow is the last chance to sign up for this Saturday's Relay for Life Scrapbooking Crop. The money raised goes directly to the American Cancer Society. For only $25, you get a large table to spread out, 2 meals, a sale table to sell any unwanted extras you have, and door prizes. There will be 4 vendors available for your shopping convenience. Here is a sample of a card you can make while visiting my Stampin' Up! table. You will also have the opportunity to try many of my tools, including the Big Shot die-cut machne. I love this machine. You can do so many things with it!

Decor Elements

This wall hanging will soon be gracing the wall in our living room. When I ordered the Decor Elements, I ordered the white lettering, not thinking about my off-white colored walls, so i decided to frame the verse. I added the Upsy Daisy Stamp in the lower corner. It was ready to hang in minutes. What do you think?

Accordian Flower

Do you like to use many types of tools to create your cards? Well, this is the card for you! I used the new Circle Scissor Plus to cut out the white circle behind the flower. The accordian flower is created by using the scoring tool on the paper cutter. The center of the button background is made with the button die and Big Shot. The button is one of the new Designer buttons. I used Bashful Blue cardstock and Delicate Dots DSP.

Desktop Notepad

Do you like to give homemade, but practical gifts? This desktop notepad is very simple and fun to make. It starts with a plastic photo frame! Add a 4 x 6 piece of cardstock, DSP across the top and bottom, form a cardstock penholder to attach at the side, tie a ribbon for decoration, and attach the sticky note pad. I'm using a lot of the Delicate Dots DSP, since I have so much from the Sale -A-Bration promotion. I will have a few of these available for sale on April 18 at the Relay for Life Scrapbook Crop at the Sandburg Mall Community Room. Hope to see you there.

Envelope Gift Card

Although you can't see it very well, this card is made using an envelope and a crimper. I cut off 1 1/4 inch off the side of the envelope, inked the background with So Saffron and stamped the Upsy Daisy flower on the main part of the envelope. It is then run through the crimper. The remaining top of the envelope is wrapped with ribbon and then becomes the lid of the card. Perfect for inserting a gift card or special note. It was a very fast and easy card to make. I got the idea from a tutorial on Split Coast Stampers. They have some awesome card and gift ideas. I've even created a 'catalog' of sorts with ideas for future use. As I have time to practice, watch for the results right here.
