Have you noticed that I love my BIG SHOT? I especially like to make boxes using my Big Shot Dies. This picture shows some special boxes I made this past weekend for some special family members. I also made a special gift that goes inside, but I'll have to wait until next weekend to show you. I also made a special box for my brother-in-law that just turned 50. I had to make it nice. I don't want bad surprises when I reach that mark in January!
Would you like to learn how to make one of these? I'd love to offer a class , or better yet, why not book a workshop? Not only do you get to watch me make projects, you also get to make some yourself along with your friends. The really great part is you get to earn a lot of free stuff! You also don't need to worry about not being creative. The best part about my job is sharing all the wonderful resources for ideas! Anyone can be creative when there is so much inspiration.
Call me for more details at (309) 221-0978 or send me an e-mail at tmustain@centurytel.net. I look forward to hearing from you.
Happy Stamping,
Twila

Friend to Friend
This Friend to Friend card is one that was made at Card Club Tuesday night. I think it looks very elegant with all the different layers. Although you don't see it very well in this picture, the base of the card is Soft Suede. This color is rather dark for writing a message, so I added a layer of vanilla card stock on the inside and used the ticket corner punch to match the outside of the card. This is very much a versatile card suitable for many occasions. I still have a few cards that I designed for my Open House on August 1, so check back soon for more of my creations. I'll also be working on some of the new stamps available in the New Holiday Mini Catalog, available beginning on September 1. Stay tuned and.....

Boxes, Boxes, I LOVE Boxes!
I just love to make boxes using my Big Shot and all the wonderful dies available through Stampin' Up! This box was made using the Bigz XL Matchbox Die, Bermuda Bay cardstock and the Thoroughly Modern DSP. The color combinations are very upbeat and cheery, I think. We also made this box last night at Card Club. It's great for adding a little chocolate to cheer someone up, or just add a piece of jewelry and you have an elegant gift box for that special someone in your life. Don't you want to learn how? It's not too late! Call me to join, or we'll get together when it is convenient for you. Until then.....

Happy Birthday
Birthdays are wonderful opportunities to share your creativity and let that special someone know you care. This is such a simple card to make. The light pink background is actually embossed with a texturez plate on whisper white and sponged with a coordinating color chalk. The other cardstock and DSP are the new Melon Mambo In Colors. This is also one of the cards we'll be making at Card Club this Tuesday night, so if you haven't signed up yet, give me a call. Space is filling up very fast! Now to just get the card stock and papers cut and ready! I know I can do it!

Card Club Anyone?
Card club starts this Tuesday! Are you ready? I'm getting really excited, as this is my first card club to be running. I have some new friends signed up, too. I still have room if you're interested. If you need to reach me, call my cell phone at 221-0978. I'm not home this weekend. The kids and I are gone camping, but will return soon, since the kids start school Monday.

Polished Stone Technique
This picture shows a new technique I just learned, called Polished Stone. Starting with glossy cardstock, cotton balls, rubbing alcohol, gold or silver re-inker, and one or two color re-inkers of your choice. I chose shades of blue with silver for this sample. I made one earlier in the day with a brighter blue to make a box base for a floral arrangement. We're using this centerpiece on Sunday when we celebrate our 25th anniversary. Would you believe this is the same centerpiece we used for our wedding reception? We used artificial flowers and saved ALL our flowers. We are using the candle ring arrangement for the Unity candle, and my bouquet is mostly intact. Check out the bottom of the centerpiece. You can see the box I made (at least a little). If you want to see it in person, come to Church on Sunday when we renew our vows. If you can't make it then, but still want to see a better view, contact me at 221-0978 to make arrangements. Or better yet, host a workshop! I'll show you how to make one of your own!
Until then, Happy Stamping,

Big Shot Sampler

Have you see the wonderful selection of dies available to use with the Stampin' Up! Big Shot Die Cut Machine? Did you look at the pictures in the catalog and wonder just how big they really were or what it looked like cut out? I have created a Big Shot Sample Book using all the dies that I personally own. As I add to my collection, I will also update the sample book. I used the 6 X 6 ring album from the Stampin' Up! catalog and purchased extra pages. For the front cover, I used the Definately Decorative Vinyl sheets and cut out the letters using my Big Shot. They were very easy to adhere to the front of the album. Until next time.Happy Stamping,

Circle Circus

Circle Circus stamp set is one of the many new and wonderful stamp sets available in the new catalog. I also displayed this card at my Open House this weekend. If you like this card and would like to make one, how about joining Card Club? The original plan was to meet on the fourth Thursday each month, but because of scheduling changes at the Salvation Army, I am moving it to the fourth Tuesday. That makes the first night August 25, just over 3 weeks from now! I'll check everyone's schedule to see what works best, but the starting time will be either 6:30 or 7:00. Wow, how the summer has flown! Check your calendar and call me soon at 221-0978 to sign up. Let the fun begin!
